Munir had been exposed to music at a young age. At home he was constantly exposed to bossa nova music (Astrud Gilberto and Antonio Carlos Jobim) by his parents who are both music lovers. He started music lessons playing the Electone Organ at the age of 6, switching to guitar when he was 16 yrs old.
The guitar has been Munir’s primary instrument for the past 20 years. He is equally adept on the electric guitar as well as the acoustic / nylon-string guitar. He is greatly influenced by classical, jazz ,soul, Brazilian and dance music (Soulful, Deep House and Broken Beats). He has backed-up various artistes, performed in various acoustic and full band set-ups and also performed with DJ’s in an electronic / live setting. He has performed in Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Maldives and Beijing (during the 2008 Olympics).
