Manu Chao’s debut performance in Singapore with Tropika for his album tour, ‘Sibérie m’était contéee’. Known for combining several languages and musical styles, Sibérie m’était contéee was the first French language-only album released by Manu Chao in 2004. It is the conflation between city, lover and the seasons poetically handled over 23 playful cameos, making an engaging French lesson. The flourishes of chanson alongside minimalist rock-reggae is a tribute to Paris, where Chao grew up.
Performing alongside Chao are Singapore-based global music collectives, Sonido Singapura and Beatroot.
